I went to the Junior/Senior Prom with Lenny. What a dear sweet guy. Life cut short way too young! I believe he was 21 when he was killed in a car wreck so that would make it 1972.

Leonard and I were among a few at Palo Verde who had attended Roskruge Junior High School.  His smiling camaraderie, earnest goodwill, and ardent enthusiasm have been missed by his family and friends.

Although I didn't meet Leonard (Tigy) until high school, we became extremely close friends and remained so until he passed away at such an early age.  He was killed by a drunk driver.  We attended the U of A together and would meet every morning before Political Science class.  Leonard always wanted to be a lawyer.

What I remember most about Leonard and I am sure that anyone that knew him would agree, is that he always had a smile on his face and would uplift everyone around him.

Leonard was also an excellent athlete.

In summation, Leonard was a wonderful person who was loved by his family and friends.  He has truly been missed by all.

I remember Leonard's other closest friends as being Mike Ancharski and Tom McGovern.

I didn't know Lennie really well in high school, but I always thought he was a good person.  His younger brother was & still is really a good friend with my sister.  It broke my heart to see Willy standing next to his brother's casket at the funeral.

Leonard and I had many battles against each other during our junior and senior years on the tennis team. Win or lose he was ALWAYS a great sport. In my opinion he was the best mover ( fast ) on the court of the entire team. We seemed to take turns beating each other. One time he had me 5-2 in the final set and I came back winning five games in a row to win the match 7-5. Then there was a city tournment at the Randolph tennis center...I lost in the first round but Leonard made it to the finals. There he played Jon Vassile the number one player from Tucson High. I was there and just before the match started people in the stands were all saying that Leonard was gonna get creamed. Well, they were all wrong. Instead Leonard was in the "zone" and beat Jon in straight sets. Almost everytime Jon charged the net Leonard would answer with some of the most accurate and smooth passing shots. We were all shaking our heads at how well he played that day. After the tournament Leonard had total confidence. He started winning all of his team challenge matches and finally we had to play again. Other guys on the team told me that I had to win to break his momentum or he'd be the next number one on the team. I played an excellent match and had him 5-2 in the final set. This time though it was his turn to come back and he won five games in a row to win 7-5. He finally lost challenging Mike Jones for the number one spot on the team. He was always as gracious in victory as well as defeat. I had total respect for him as an athlete and person. I was devastated to hear about the accident and attended his funeral downtown. I'll never forget him...fantastic human being!
