Ruben L. Munguia

Ruben L. Munguia 59 passed away May 9, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry Y. Munguia and Maria Luisa Zazueta-Munguia. Survived by wife, Connie Romero-Munguia; son, Ruben A. Munguia; sisters, M. Olga Garza, Gloria Martinez (Martin) and Rosemary Munguia; brothers, Manuel S. (Cecilia), Henry Z. (Elvira) and Ray C. (Isabel) Munguia. Also survived by two grandchildren, Ruben A. Munguia and Toni M. Munguia. Visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2010, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Saturday, May 15, 2010, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Ruben will be missed for the happy-go-lucky attitude and jokeful way. He will also be known for his generosity and giving manner. Ruben enjoyed bowling, coaching Little League and passing the time with his family and friends. He was also the Pueblo High School Mascot "Wally Warrior" as a freshman in 1964. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict in the early 1970's, having been stationed at Seoul, Korea as a helicopter mechanic. He attended to the 45th Transport Company, 8th Army. He was employed in Retail/Grocery Business and engaged in management thereof. He also worked for the Tucson Blueprint. Ruben will be missed by all his family members, especially his wife, Connie; son, Ruben and two grandchildren, Ruben and Toni, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
