Ruben A. Ortiz Vietnam veteran, entered eternal rest on January 9, 2009. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Ortiz. He is survived by his mother, Susana Matus; loving friend and mother of his children, Mary Ann; children, Evangeline "Yaya" (Michael), Armando (Monica), Suzette (Michael) and Maria del Carmen; brothers and sisters, Jose Antonio, Victor M., Susana Enriquez, Jose Maria Matus and Johnny Rhodes; nine grandchildren, best friend, "Bud" and numerous family and friends. A visitation will be held at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 19, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral with interment and military service to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
