Robert and I were not exactly the most popular guys in high school. I suppose that is why we were close friends before we went our separate ways. Pueblo High has a true hero in Robert and I am proud to have known him. Robert was Vietnam veteran, like many of us who graduated from Pueblo, like Rudy Gallego, Tony Martinez, Gilbert Alvarez and many others. Robert was a combat field medic in Vietnam and received a Silver Star, 2-Bronze Stars and 2-Purple Hearts. He is now buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
