I don't know who will read this or if it matters...

My relationship with Mike ("Rez") left an imprint on me that has both positive and negative elements. He and I had a very unique relationship, and I've been curious about who he had become and how he'd integrated the energy we cultivated together (which continued a bit beyond high school graduation, after I'd left Tucson). My heart feels heavy knowing his spirit is no longer embodied in that funny, intelligent, talented, passionate being that was Mike Reznik. I'm sad that the world did not get to know him as an adult and an elder. I'm sad he didn't get to know himself in those ways.

I'd given up on ever connecting with him again ten or so years ago. When this thing from Sabino came along I logged on with some hope that we'd get to communicate. Knowing he's dead lands like a heavy thud in my heart.

Yet something in knowing he's gone gives me hope for personal resolution regarding what existed between us. The invisible cord that linked us is there, but on his end it's now pure essence; and that makes my job easier. Less tangled. More supported. There is inspiration in knowing that without his human mind to get in the way, all that's left on his end is compassion, and knowing, and forgiveness - which makes it easier for me to let go of my mind's scheming and arrive in that place as well.

If any of Mike's close friends or family members are reading this, I wish you sweet memories and continued healing.

He was important to me; and our time together continues to serve as one of my great teachers.

Well said Jennifer, I miss him too. Life is but a breath, live each and every day to the fullest. Tomorrow is promised to no one :)

Mike was a great guy.  Always had a fun and snarky way about him.  I was very sad to hear he has passed years ago.  I didn't know it was a car accident.  I found this online:

Born in Park Ridge, Cook, Illinois, USA on 18 Oct 1973. Michael Edward Reznik passed away on 2 Jul 1996 in Tucson, Pima, Arizona, USA.

I just found his obituary.  Makes me sad.  He was a great guy.

REZNIK, Michael Edward, 22, of Tucson, diedJuly 2, 1996. He is survived by his beloved parents, Marvin E. and Sandra L. Reznik; loving brother of Amy and Melissa Reznik; dear grandson of Mae (the late Edward) Olson of Mahomet, IL and Eleanor (the late Meyer) Reznik of Phoenix, AZ; fond nephew of Esther (Steve) Castor of Grand Junction, CO, Linda (John) Haight of Elgin, IL, Karl (Carol) Olson of Mahomet, IL, Alvin (Judyth) Reznik of Phoenix, AZ and Sheldon (Carol) Reznik of Oklahoma City, OK; devoted cousin of many.
Michael allowed us a glimpse of true perfection of the spirit, the highest distinction of individuality, and the endlessness of love that only his heart could contain. We were truly blessed with his life.
