I was an aide in Nicole's PE class... here is my recollection:

At the beginning of each class, the aides would divide daily tasks amongst themselves. Nicole's program focused strongly on upper-body strength building, as she was confined to a wheel chair. Most days, she and an aide were given free-range of the campus to get this exercise. Coach Truitt always stressed that we ought to use as many ramps as possible, but Nicole thought otherwise. Like the rest of us, Nicole didn't care much for exercising. Instead, most of our outings became casual strolls in which we conversed on every subject from classes to boys to family. She loved to gossip and always had the scoop. As a strong personality, she also knew how to fix every problem without compromising her very firm viewpoints on the matter...This led to many conversations about friendship and loyalty, actions and reactions, and laughing about the behavioral abnormalities of the opposite sex.

Nicole was kind, stubborn, helpful, funny, and creative. She was the average teen girl and she will be my forever friend.

I was Nicole's bestfriend all through highschool and up to her passing. she  enjoyed life to the fullest, despite her disability, she wasn't big on telling all  the details about her diability or the operations and thing, didn't want to worry  people to much. She knows that I worry alot, so I didn't even know she was that bad. The docter's tried all they cccouldto ake her shunt work normally and finally couldn't help her anymore.
