School Story
After SHS, I went to U of A for Mechanical Engineering and was on the 5 year plan as I was working for my fathers company since 1974. In 1985 my father went back to NASA, and I took over the company and have now been here for 44 years.
In 1995, I initiated the Amigos De Amigos Riparian Restoration Project. We are an alliance of individuals, all with different expertise, in our common cause. Our members include personnel of the Forest Service, Sheriff's Department, Pima County Justice, ICE, University of Arizona, many business other owners, and local residents. We provide community action in the restoration and maintenance of our local designated riparian areas with the recognition and support of the Pima County Government. Growing up in Arizona, we were taught to always leave an area better than you found it. Some areas became impossible to maintain do to overwhelming destruction from illegal aliens. The never ending amount of trash left in Cave Canyon was beyond our ability to fully support any longer. This was a sad realization. The problem increased geometrically with time! Despite this issue, we continue to invest daily in our riparian areas providing restoration and maintenance. It is beautiful to see nature as it was intended, so I do something everyday, to forward our cause!
