I have known Billy since Kerr. We got along as classmates, but not as best buds that hung out together daily. We teased each other alot. I worked at Kmart in high school, and a lady who had just started working there came in the breakroom upset about the death of her son. I later found out his name was Billy Roberts. It did not click until years later, actually just a couple months ago, that it was the same Billy that I had grown up with. What is worse, I never remember seeing him at EC. Sadly, it takes something like this website to find out that someone you have known for over 30 years has passed, and you have already heard about it, and it not clicking in your head. I could kick myself for not saying something to his mom all those years ago.

I grew up with Billy. I remember hanging out together back in elementary school listening to cassettes like ACDC and Pink Floyd. I remember racing and shuffling with him at most all of the skating rinks in Tulsa back then. I remember hanging out with him behind the school and the smoke hole during high school. Well at the time I didn't remember it but I do now...you know that short term memory loss deal. :) And after we graduated I would see Billy a lot as well. Now I was in California or Missouri when he was murdered and that was twenty years ago but as I recall he had been involved in a drug deal gone awry and a couple of people took him somewhere like Arkansas and murdered him on the side of the road while he was urinating. I was super duper tight with his girlfriend for a long period after all of this by virtue of being one of Billy's oldest pals. The weed was never a dangerous deadly thing but the powder was. Just say no. He was a supremely good dude. On another note for those of you who went to Kerr. Frieda Blackwood was murdered in her front yard by a jealous ex wife who shot her down as she fled across her front yard in Claremore. And good old Mr. Austin who busted all of our asses plenty of times girls included. Hard to believe that someone murdered him in his own home as well. RIP
I want to personaly thank each of you who posted a blog on my brother William (Billy) Roberts it is true he was killed in 1989 he was stabbed 17 times in the back and dragged out in the woods of Arkansa and left to die. It is really hard for me to do this tonite because after 21 years I still think about him alot. And to throw salt in the wound I have just found the guy that did it on facebook living like he dont have a care in the world. So again I thank each and every one of you
