Kandace Baughn Cahill

I moved around a bit after high school before finally settling for 10 (unintended and long) years in Columbia, Missouri where I got my B.A. in Theatre. In my last semester, I realized that theatre wasn't where it was at for me--took me awhile to get it. I wanted to learn more about natural health, and began by going to massage school in 1994. I then went into private massage practice in Missouri and opened a holistic healing center with my partner, Kim. Along the way I discovered that my true passion was in Chinese medicine. So we finally made our way to Boulder, Colorado in 2002 so I could attend Chinese medical school. I graduated in 2006, did an internship in Beijing, and have been in practice in Boulder ever since.

Kim and I had been wanting to start a family for most of the 10 years we have been together, and decided to finally go for it after I graduated from acupuncture school. We were successful after just one round of artificial insemination (I was the one to carry) and now have our beautiful Alder! We will be going through a 2nd-parent adoption very soon to have Kim be legally recognized as Alder's other parent.

We're both nature nuts and photographers, and spend many, many weekends hiking in the Colorado mountains combining these 2 passions, shooting mountain landscapes. We can't wait to share this with Alder, whose anonymous donor was also a nature photographer!
