Brian, Donnie and I had grown up together from elementary to high school. I remember when Brian and I were 11 years old and our school mate and best friend Shasta passed away. He and his mother took me to her funeral and I never thought I would be going to his. I know he was dearly loved and is missed very much.

Brian and I was very close friends as most of you know. He was like a son to my mom and dad. When I go past his resting place at 129th and 71st I always remember Brian and how he was always saying funny things like "Yo man what's up". I will never understand why someone so alive and full of life was taken so early in life. I lost a friend and a brother the day he left.

I met Brian in 2nd grade and always seemed to be in his homeroom class. In fact at the time of his death, he was my biology partner. I always remember him being very funny and just like with our other friend, Shasta, when I see either of their pictures or go to their graves I still get teary-eyed. Their memories will always be a part of me.

It broke my heart when Brian died! He was one of my best friends and was always there for me.

Brian was one of my first kinda real boyfriends. He was the first boy that said he loved me! It was 8th grade and maybe didn't count but I've always loved him, too. We remained friends in High School. Every time I hear Stairway to Heaven I stop and listen; I remember my friend and wonder what he would be doing today, where he'd be in life and what kind of man and maybe father he would be. I don't know why it was his time to go so early in life, before he really got to leave his mark here but he did leave his footprints on many of our hearts. He walks with the angels and talks with God...I guess he turned out alright after all!
