ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Fall from Oklahoma, one of the best times of the year in these parts......

Our September 9 Gatherin' was such a fun, casual, intimate evening and we wish you could all have been there.  We had about 30 classmates attend and there was much catching up and many stories being told throughout the evening, lots of laughs and hugs.

Great to see so many of you who live in the area and thanks to those of you who made a trip to Tulsa to join us!

BIG thanks to Doug Queen for sponsoring the Gatherin' and being able to be with us so closely following hurricane Harvey which hit so close to home.  Our hearts go out to all our classmates in the Houston and surrounding areas that were impacted by Harvey and likewise to our many classmates in Florida who were affected by Irma!

Would like to take this opportunity to ask all of you to reach out to classmates we haven't seen in a long time and/or those who haven't registered with this website.  The reunion committee is on a quest to find as many of our "missing" classmates as possible so spread the word!!

Hopefully we will have a couple more casual get togethers leading up to the reunion. We will have several more planning meetings and welcome any of you who have been holding back on joining in on that fun.  Stay tuned for more news about the 46th Reunion/64th Birthday Bash in July 2018!

Peace & love,

Jan Sunderland Underwood

Good Monday Morning!

Boy it has been beautiful in Tulsa and no one is talking about a drought anymore!  We have had a really great spring here this year and haven't jumped into an early summer yet!  You know how the heat can really come on fast.

News - the planning committee met and due to some important conflicts with our September 30, 2017 date, we have decided to postpone our 45th reunion.  We want everyone to have enough time to plan to attend and just don't think we have enough time.  Apologize to anyone who is just hankering to come to Tulsa this year, go ahead and do it anyway and let several friends/classmates know and maybe we can have a casual dinner someplace.

But we have set a date for a gathering and "renamed" it our 46th reunion/64th birthday.  We actually have a date set so put this in your dayplanner:  JULY 20, 21, 2018.  Yes, this will occur in 2018 not 2017.

Planning committee will be getting together a couple of times before September and then really get into the details of the gathering and we are excited!

Have a great summer and SAVE THE DATE - JULY 20, 21, 2018.

Peace & love

Jan Sunderland Underwood

Rest In Peace Leon Russell, Master of Space and Time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I SUSPECT THE MAJORITY OF US HAVE ALL REACHED THE GOLDEN AGE OF 60 BY NOW BUT WE STILL HAVE A FEW YOUTHFUL CLASSMATES (TODAY IS HERB HAWKINS' - HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERB!) WHOSE BIRTHDAYS ARE YET TO ARRIVE!

JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A GOOD YEAR AND A BEAUTIFUL FALL.  IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN TULSA IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE ANNUAL TULSA STATE FAIR STARTS TODAY AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INTERESTING EVENT FOR ME.  WE USED TO GET FREE FAIR TICKETS AT SCHOOL FOR THE LAST FRIDAY IN SEPTEMBER BECAUSE WE WERE OUT OF SCHOOL FOR A TEACHERS' MEETING.  USUALLY WENT TO THE FAIR IN HIGH SCHOOL AT LEAST ONCE AND IT WAS OFTEN COOL ENOUGH TO WEAR A JACKET OR COAT.

THIS WAS OUR SENIOR YEAR, DIANE HAMRA, MOI, CATHY CROSBY, LAURA BRETT, JULIE HOLMES, BECKY CONNELL, DANA GILPIN.

I'VE HAD A VERY BUSY LAST SIX MONTHS AND JUST WANTED TO TOUCH BASE WITH EVERYONE - ANYONE CAN POST AN ANNOUNCEMENT IF YOU HAVE NEWS YOU WANT TO SHARE.

HAVE A GREAT FALL SEASON Y'ALL.

PEACE & LOVE - JAN SUNDERLAND UNDERWOOD

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A FUN FILLED 2014 HOLIDAY SEASON AND WERE ABLE TO ENJOY SPENDING TIMES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

JUST DROPPING IN TO SAY HELLO AND WISH EVERYONE A SUCCESSFUL 2015.  I WAS REFLECTING LAST NIGHT WHEN MY MIND WOULDN'T TURN OFF AT BEDTIME, AND REMEMBER WHEN I WAS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THINKING HOW FAR AWAY THE YEAR 2000 SEEMED.  NOW HERE WE ARE IN 2015 AND I FEEL THANKFUL TO HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR IN ONE PIECE AND WITH SO MANY GREAT LIFE EXPERIENCES.  NOT THAT I HAVEN'T HAD MY OWN SELF-WROUGHT STRUGGLES, I REALLY DIDN'T GET MY ACT TOGETHER UNTIL I WAS 40 OR SO AND I'M SURE MANY OF YOU KNOW WHERE I'M COMING FROM.  I HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS AND AQUANTANCES WHO I ADMIRED OVER THE YEARS BECAUSE THEY SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT CAREER THEY WANTED TO PURSUE AND WERE COMMITTED TO WHO THEY WANTED TO SPEND THEIR LIVES WITH RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL.

ANYWHO - DON'T WANT TO WAX ON AD NAUSEUM.  I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER EXCITING YEAR OF LIFE, FAMILY, FRIENDS  AND THROWING IN A LITTLE TRAVEL.

TO THOSE CLASSMATES WHO HAVE LOST A PARENT, SPOUSE, LOVED ONE THIS PAST YEAR, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO YOU AND I PRAY YOUR MEMORIES SUSTAIN THE LOSS YOU HAVE SUFFERED.  I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXTEND MY HEARTFELT PRAYERS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE CARING FOR A LOVED ONE WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH A DEBILITATING MEDICAL OR MENTAL ISSUE.

I WILL STOP FOR NOW.  REMEMBER - ANYONE CAN POST A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS, IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR FROM ANY ONE OF YOU!!!

PEACE & LOVE

JAN SUNDERLAND UNDERWOOD
