Folks, looks like we are getting hit with surcharges from everywhere, so our money is running very tight. Therefore, we are accepting any donation to help cover our expenses.

Memorial High School
Class Of 1972
ANNOUNCEMENTS

I have added a link from River Spirit Hotel so you can register on-line, see below.  I have also added a link to the Tulsa Memorial Charger Pride Scholarship Foundation below.

You can now register for the reunion/birthday bash on this site over on the left side of the page is the detailed reunion info and a tab you can click to register!

The Memorial Class of 1972 46th Year Reunion will happen July 20-21, 2018, at the River Spirit Casino Resort, 8330 Riverside Parkway in Tulsa, http://www.riverspirittulsa.com/hotel/resort-pool/

Location Map:  https://goo.gl/maps/KUWTM97n2P52

Friday, July 20, 2018, 6-9 pm at the River Spriit Hotel, we will have an executive suite (number TBA) for a casual gathering with light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the River Spirit Resort ballroom, 6-7 pm, cocktails (cash bar), 7-10:30 pm dinner and fun.

Cost for the weekend is $50/person for payments up to June 20, 2018, standard cost will be $60/person after June 20.

We have arranged a discounted room rate of $139/night for a standard room and $249/night for an executive suite.  You must contact hotel 888-748-3731 for reservations and request special rate for Tulsa Memorial Class of '72.  THESE RATES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IF RESERVATION MADE BY JUNE 20, 2018. Call 888-748-3731.  I have just received a link that you can go to to make the reservation:  Memorial Class of 72

Dress is casual for both evenings.

The hotel has a wonderful spa for your relaxation, check it out!  http://www.riverspirittulsa.com/hotel/emerge-spa/ phone number 918-995-8909.

There is a great resort pool, with an outside and inside bar.  http://www.riverspirittulsa.com/hotel/resort-pool/  888-748-3731.

The casino has lots of entertainment to offer, live music, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville,  the casino (smoking and non-smoking areas), several restaurant and lounge options.

Another option for entertainment while you are here is the Flying Tee at the Jenks Riverwalk Crossing.  I think transportation may be available from the hotel.  It is a bar/restaurant with golfing games, we toured it and it looks like loads of fun for groups of varying sizes.  If you are interested in hanging out at the Flying Tee, you need to make your reservations a couple of weeks ahead, it is very popular and space is limited.  Check it out at https://www.flyingteegolf.com/

Tulsa has a fairly new open air venue in the Brady Arts District called the Guthrie Green.  Great little bars, restaurants, The Woody Guthrie Museum, plenty to see and a great place to hang out.  https://www.guthriegreen.com/

We are getting so excited to have this bash and catch up with everyone.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Also, there will be a "pre" reunion party on Thursday, July 19, at the Mayo Hotel rooftop bar which is being spearheaded by Cheryl Hanson Leavitt.  This started out as a Carnegie Elementary gathering but is growing and encompasses those who attended the numerous elementary schools that fed into Memorial are invited to this pre party.  Admission of $25/person is payable at the door, light hors d'oeuvres, cash bar.

I have been contacted by a former Memorial alum from the class of '73 who has been spearheading the Charger Pride Scholarship Foundation.  They will have a table at the reunion on Saturday night and available for those of you who may want to make a donation for this worthy cause.  You can go to this link for further information:  http://www.chargerpride.org/

Peace & love

Rest In Peace Leon Russell, Master of Space and Time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I SUSPECT THE MAJORITY OF US HAVE ALL REACHED THE GOLDEN AGE OF 60 BY NOW BUT WE STILL HAVE A FEW YOUTHFUL CLASSMATES (TODAY IS HERB HAWKINS' - HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERB!) WHOSE BIRTHDAYS ARE YET TO ARRIVE!

JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A GOOD YEAR AND A BEAUTIFUL FALL.  IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN TULSA IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE ANNUAL TULSA STATE FAIR STARTS TODAY AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INTERESTING EVENT FOR ME.  WE USED TO GET FREE FAIR TICKETS AT SCHOOL FOR THE LAST FRIDAY IN SEPTEMBER BECAUSE WE WERE OUT OF SCHOOL FOR A TEACHERS' MEETING.  USUALLY WENT TO THE FAIR IN HIGH SCHOOL AT LEAST ONCE AND IT WAS OFTEN COOL ENOUGH TO WEAR A JACKET OR COAT.

THIS WAS OUR SENIOR YEAR, DIANE HAMRA, MOI, CATHY CROSBY, LAURA BRETT, JULIE HOLMES, BECKY CONNELL, DANA GILPIN.

I'VE HAD A VERY BUSY LAST SIX MONTHS AND JUST WANTED TO TOUCH BASE WITH EVERYONE - ANYONE CAN POST AN ANNOUNCEMENT IF YOU HAVE NEWS YOU WANT TO SHARE.

HAVE A GREAT FALL SEASON Y'ALL.

PEACE & LOVE - JAN SUNDERLAND UNDERWOOD

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A FUN FILLED 2014 HOLIDAY SEASON AND WERE ABLE TO ENJOY SPENDING TIMES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

JUST DROPPING IN TO SAY HELLO AND WISH EVERYONE A SUCCESSFUL 2015.  I WAS REFLECTING LAST NIGHT WHEN MY MIND WOULDN'T TURN OFF AT BEDTIME, AND REMEMBER WHEN I WAS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THINKING HOW FAR AWAY THE YEAR 2000 SEEMED.  NOW HERE WE ARE IN 2015 AND I FEEL THANKFUL TO HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR IN ONE PIECE AND WITH SO MANY GREAT LIFE EXPERIENCES.  NOT THAT I HAVEN'T HAD MY OWN SELF-WROUGHT STRUGGLES, I REALLY DIDN'T GET MY ACT TOGETHER UNTIL I WAS 40 OR SO AND I'M SURE MANY OF YOU KNOW WHERE I'M COMING FROM.  I HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS AND AQUANTANCES WHO I ADMIRED OVER THE YEARS BECAUSE THEY SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT CAREER THEY WANTED TO PURSUE AND WERE COMMITTED TO WHO THEY WANTED TO SPEND THEIR LIVES WITH RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL.

ANYWHO - DON'T WANT TO WAX ON AD NAUSEUM.  I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER EXCITING YEAR OF LIFE, FAMILY, FRIENDS  AND THROWING IN A LITTLE TRAVEL.

TO THOSE CLASSMATES WHO HAVE LOST A PARENT, SPOUSE, LOVED ONE THIS PAST YEAR, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO YOU AND I PRAY YOUR MEMORIES SUSTAIN THE LOSS YOU HAVE SUFFERED.  I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXTEND MY HEARTFELT PRAYERS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE CARING FOR A LOVED ONE WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH A DEBILITATING MEDICAL OR MENTAL ISSUE.

I WILL STOP FOR NOW.  REMEMBER - ANYONE CAN POST A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS, IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR FROM ANY ONE OF YOU!!!

PEACE & LOVE

JAN SUNDERLAND UNDERWOOD
