TUSCALOOSA | John G. Newton, Jr., age 63, of Tuscaloosa, died August 27, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Pastor Randy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his father, John Newton, Sr.Survivors include his wife, Carol Y. Newton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter, Tracey N. Stith (Phillip) of Northport, Ala.; sister, Lane Newton; mother, Janette C. Newton; and grandchildren, Jackson and Abigail Stith.John attended Tuscaloosa High School and graduated from Livingston University. He had many years of outstanding sales management positions. The last position was at Tuscaloosa Toyota for 20+ years. His passions were his grandchildren, family and photography. He was known by so many for his fishing adventures, wanting to catch the ""big one."" Pallbearers will be Ken Steele, Phillip Stith, Robert Baxter, Otis Wilson, Donnie Baxter and Dennis Ingram.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. and Mrs. Keith DeBell, Dr. James Posey of the UAB Kirkland Clinic, DCH 5th floor nurses and Tuscaloosa Toyota.
