Marvin Creel

TUSCALOOSA | Marvin Donald Creel, Jr., age 63, of Tuscaloosa, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at Soma Church with Shaun Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at Soma Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Donald Creel, Sr.; his mother, Janice W. Creel; and his sister, Doreen Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon T. Creel, of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Jennifer Creel, Lori M. Creel, and Rachel Anne Creel, all of Tuscaloosa; brother, John M. Creel, of Suttle, Ala.; and grandchildren, Jacob C. Creel, Marvin Daniel Creel, and Nathaniel Casey Creel.
He was born in Jasper, Alabama. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1970. He went on to college at The University of Alabama and received two degrees in Geology and Accounting.
Before his death, he worked as the Clinical Data Coordinator at The University Medical Center at The University of Alabama.
Pallbearers will be, Jacob Creel, John Baird, Stephen Walker, Steve Davis, David Robinson, and Jordan Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are University Medical Center, and Temple Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Soma Church.
