Gail Jacobs Smith
NORTHPORT | Gail Jacobs Smith, age 57, of Northport, died Feb. 8, 2009, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Dolan Davis, Jr. offi ciating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Jacobs and Cherry Jacobs. Survivors include her husband, Robert (Doc) Smith; daughters, Shelley Elmore (Kevin), Amy Mitchell (Joe), and Lindy Weaver (Keith); her son, Chance Smith; and her grandchildren, Mary Beth and Jackson Mitchell.
 
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was the best cook in the whole world and loved cooking for her family. She was always a great listener and the best mom anyone could have! We will miss her!
 
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Beasley, Jeff Plowman, Bobby Miller, John Ingram, Bruce Harper, Chris Davis, Eddie Sherwood, and Bart Harper.
 
Honorary pallbearers are employees and friends of JVC, Jeffpro Painting Co., Ronnie and Janet Beasley, Dr. Pamboukian, Dr. Benza, Dr. Gene Alldredge, Ms. Grayson, and Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster. 
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Preschool Dept. at Calvary Baptist Church, the American Heart Association, or the Children’s Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church.
