Mr. Michael Jay Frisch, 47, of Scotch Plains died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in the Cancer Treatment Center of America Pa. The funeral is Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains, with full Navy Service. Visitation is on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Letters of condolence to may be sent to the family at www.therossifuneralhome.com. Michael Frisch was an exceptionally loving husband, kind son, supportive brother, caring uncle, and friend to clients and everyone. If a tree is judged by its fruits, then these are the fruits of Michael: intelligence, hardworking, dedication, charitable and always available for anyone needing a helping hand. All who know him say, "There's not one bad thing about Michael," and most said, "Michael changed my life for the better." Michael Frisch was a Computer Aided Design (CAD) specialist and a U.S. Navy veteran. Michael was a designer and project manager consulting to Naval Architects and Marine engineering firms, with projects involving container ship design and construction, maritime pre-positioning fleet certifications, caro logistics and cable ship design, to name a few. For the past eight years, he had specialized in CAD mapping for military, industrial and entertainment projects. Michael's passion was design work on Live Entertainment events, where his expertise of site design, planning, surveying, and construction supervision was highly recognized. A few of Michael's notable projects are Paul McCartney's opening of CitiField, Bon Jovi's Opening of the Prudential Center and Meadowlands Stadium, N.J.; Andrea Bocelli at Liberty State Park, N.J.; Phish New Year's Eve 2000 at the Seminold Indian Reservation in Big Cypress, Fla.; Ricky Martins CBS Special at Liberty State Park, N.J.; Woodstock 99 at Griffiss AFB, Rome, N.Y., and Garth Brook's at Central Park, N.Y. Michael's lifetime project is where for the past years, Michael and Steve Wozniak joined forces to realize a new vision of the US Festivals - a nine-day event in the spirit of Woz's original vision- bringing music, technology, and people together to promote the US philosophy that everyone benefits when we work together, pool our resources, encourage each other, and challenge ourselves. This would have been a non-profit event, and this is how Michael lived his life: To passionately apply his talents, not for personal gain, but for helping others. Donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, N.Y. 11714.
