What a lively and interesting guy!  He always had something to say that would make me laugh. As a new girl at UAHS and a junior, he made me feel welcome. My favorite memory is the evening he and Bill Radcliffe treated me to a John Wayne home movie. Mike was the only reason I bought the USA Today! So sorry we didn't have a reunion this summer as you and Bill were on the top of my list of old friends. Miss you Mike!

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing but under his circumstances, it was merciful. He had amazing talents right out of the box and nurtured them so as to share them with the world. We have a son who among other things is a screenwriter in Hollywood and they corresponded from time to time.
May God's healing spirit comfort all who mourn and enable us to remember his life and times with a smile.

As the new guy moving in my senior year, Mike went out of his way to be welcoming and accepting.  He had an infectious smile and was kind to everyone.  He was the only movie critic I ever paid any attention to.  A true gentleman in every respect

I was always amazed at Mike’s passion for and knowledge of movies.  One memory that sticks out above others, however, was over baseball.  We were in the same 8th grade American History class and he, being a true-blue Yankees fan, would regularly chide me over my baseball picks.  That year the Yankees won the American League pennant and went to the World Series.  Mike was pleased to know that I was going to root for the Yankees because I didn’t like other team.  I will always remember his smile and great personality.

We sat together in 12th grade English. Every morning, he'd share the movie he watched the previous night. His game winnings paid for his car and college tuition. His mom made him quit after a Doris Day movie question. She thought it was rigged! Saw him on DC few times. He'll be missed!!

Old Mike is enjoying this immensely - Arlington was a big, big part of his life!

His Spanish name, of course, was/is MIGUEL.  We guys searched for ways to get his goat - THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE!  Guys such as Jim Lewis and Jack Wilce and I were always willing to "make up" stories about John Wayne in order to tear Mike up.  (cheap entertainment)  Mike's responses, in Spanish now, were very scholarly and full of Tijuana street lingo.  The learning processes at ye olde Arlington were not always linear.

Nevertheless, Miguel was a great sport.  Obviously, the man's good natured personality made him life-long friends who will smile when they think of Mike . . . his positive outlook on life was a gift that we can pass on - especially in these troubled times.

Rest well, old friend, and may your family be comforted by the peace that passes all understanding.

Mike was one of a kind, a great friend, and an inspiration to many. His humor brought joy to all that knew him, and highlighted the importance of living life to it's fullest. He will be sorely missed.

First I would like to state that I always enjoyed interacting with Mike Clark. My initital meeting with Mike was in the second grade. I had just moved to UA from Troy Ohio and had the fortune to sit right next to Mike. We had a book report due and Mike suggested I tell the teacher that if she wanted to know about the book, to read it herself. Wanting to fit in, I wrote this note to the teacher and found myself and my parents in the principals office. They decided it was an isolated incident and I went back to class never telling on Mike. Despie this rough start,I remained friends with Mike and had the fortune to have dinner at the Knotty Pine with he,Roger Wilson and Dave Balser  several times over the last few years.Needless to say, Mike had a great sense of humor. Mike was always upbeat despite his health challenges and two years ago we watched the Yankees beat the Indians. Mike was ecstatic. That will be my final memory of Mike.

Mike had such wit, humor, smarts and was such fun to be with. We re-connected recently and I feel honored to have known him. Truly one of a kind. I remember him with love.

It is very sad to realize that our reunion next year will be missing Mike. FaceBook is not quite the same without his posts.

I remember Mike from the second grade after we moved to Columbus from Detroit.
