Rodger Wilson (Rodger B. Wilson)

George was a really nice guy. He was funny and witty and, as I recall played the upright bass.

Ol' Georgie.  A very devoted friend and Golden Bear.  Rodger is right - George learned to play the double bass from his brother (Harry was and is a virtuoso on that there instrument, y'all.)

Of our classmates, George was the best car driver I ever saw - he inherited that from his Dad.

I think Jacobson was a fan of the shot-put in track and field.

For a while he courted a lovely lady from North High School.

Oh boy, like Bruce Johnson and Al Feltner, THE GUY LOVED CARS!  A different one every few months.  One of his occasional hobbies was long distance road racing - - the point of that sport was not so much speed as it was following a compass course and reaching checkpoints in the shortest time.

George and his parents were often invaded by one of my oldest friends, Craig Chapman.  Craig was a force of nature and was very proud of his scholastic and artistic abilities and felt that we all needed to see his latest sports car - we peons needed to be educated about design engineering and quantum physics, you know.  Finally, Harry and Valtraut decided to nickname Chapman "Cassius."  They believed that his over confidence approached that of Muhammed Ali and they sometimes tried to bring old Chap down to earth.  (Mission Impossible . . . . )

Now, George wasn't like that - he was calm and good-natured and lived a positive life.

George had a host of friends and enjoyed living dangerously - sneaking out of school and avoiding Mr. Shelby was - well, it made his day!  David never did catch old George because even the neighbors cheered for him . . .

Now you know part of "the rest of the story."

We shall miss ya, buddy.

George was a friend of mine and the family for several years.  Will always have fond memories of a fun and caring soul.
