My memories of Karen are quite deep through the years given that in 1956 I became her neighbor.  At the age of 10 my family was relocated from Massachusets to Columbus, Ohio.  In August of 1956 we moved to a house on Fairfax Drive to become neighbors of the Richards'.  Today they call it playdates back then the kids on the street would show up at different houses to have lunch, play games, hang out and in Karen's world listen to play her accordian!  Fairfax was in the country, well water, hay fields and a long bus ride to Fishinger Road School. Many days we had lunch at her kitchen table Karen, George, Linda and others.  She then had that infectious smile that never left her.  As we left high school everyone going in different directions, encounters with each other became scarce other than Class Reunions.  Karen's friendship never changed starting in 1956 through each year.  I will miss seeing her at our next class gathering.  Memories live forever, she is one of those special humans that touch peoples lives leaving an imprint.  Condolences to her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing, she was a bright star on this planet, long to be remembered.

I arrived at UAHS in the middle of my Junior year of high school.  The Cafeteria is a dreaded event for any "New

Girl,"  and Army Brats learn this at an early age.

There I stood, tray in hand, scared, disoriented and looking at a bunch of very unfamiliar faces.  It was a daunting experience.

Karen, being the sweet person that she was, actually came over to me with that smile of hers and said, "Oh, you must be the new girl.  I'm Karen, come sit with me at our table."

And that was the beginning of many very fond memories I have of Upper Arlington High School.

Even though I have not seen Karen in many years, I will never forget her and the kindness she gave to me that day.

She will always be missed by many, she touched us all

Karen and I went to school together since Fishinger Road Elementary School. My parents were

very good friends with her parents for many years. I am sorry Karen is gone. We played a lot of sports together:

especially volleyball. What a competitor !! After one of our earlier reunions, I sent her a letter.

She replied: I have never received such a wonderfully sincere message...I shall treasure it

always !  I have always been glad that she did !!  Many Hugs to All of You,  Joyce Magnuson
