Rice was such an all around nice guy. (A friend of mine from elementary school married Rice’s brother.) I remember how kind he was the day he found out my dad had died. He walked me to homeroom and walked me all the way to my desk. He was waiting for me after class to make sure I was ok. Prayers for his family that they may have God’s Peace. RIP, Rice. You were one of the good ones!
Rice was a great guy with a funny wit and sly humor. Lew, as he liked to be called later on, was humble, sincere, and a great friend. I'll remember him with fondness. I'm glad I knew him.

Rice lived four doors from me growing-up. We spent many, many hours playing basketball on his court, often
into the night. He was always kind to everyone he knew. Condolences to his family.
