Class of 85 History

Before Barack Obama spoke of change, the Valley Center High School 1984-85 Yearbook was titled CHANGES. . .Where The Changes Begin!  Our senior year began with several changes, as you may remember they enlarged & remodeled the cafeteria, added more class rooms among some of the changes for our senior year; also, freshman arrived creating a little over crowding and the reclassification of the school to 5A from 4A.

The fashions & trends impacted all of us from baggy sweaters, parachute pants, multiple pierced earrings, spiked hair & Michael Jackson inspired everything.  Duran, Duran, Wham, BonJovi, ZZ Top, Prince & Michael Jackson were just some of the favorite music.

The end of our senior year was filled with emotion of tears & excitement, with the Spring Carousel themed prom & the long awaited graduation.  The class motto was "The future is merely a dream away, but the memories are in our hearts to stay."  On the night of May 20, 1985 we entered into the "real world" with dreams.  After 25 years, I only hope the years have been kind, successful & forgiving, as I hope you kept the memories in your heart of the purple & gold!
