Brenda Zenz (Windel)

The Reunion Committee is working hard on plans for our upcoming reunion.  We have sent out letters to those that don't have e-mail addresses and also to those previous classmates that were members of our class in either elementary, junior high (middle school as it's called now) or high school.  Several of the letters have come back with incorrect addresses, so our Master Sleuth, Arvie Schieltz, is hard at work trying to track down everyone.  In doing so, he found that Larry Swinehart had passed away just this past December.  I have added Larry to our In Memory page, so take a look on info on Larry.

Keep checking for updated Reunion information under the "Reunion" tab in the left hand menu and then click on 50th Reunion.  As plans are completed we will add the items and specifics to the itinerary for the weekend.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday and are looking forward to the New Year.

Everyone take care and be safe.

Brenda

I just opened my e-mail this morning and found Arvie's note about the passing of Konnie Gyles.  I have added her to our In Memory list and it reminded me of the times we shared laughs and classes in school..  It makes me so sad that we have lost several of our classmates while we are in the middle of planning our 50th reunion.  We will never be able to let them know the impact they had on our lives while we were in school and how sad it is that we lost contact with them after leaving school when we were all so busy building adult lives and families.  We all move on but we keep those memories of old friends in our hearts and I want to thank Arvie Schieltz for his determination and hard work in locating of our old friends.  Without his expertise in locating these people, we would never know what happened to them and we wouldn't be able to recall the wonderful memories of them and the good times we had.  So, rest easy my old friends, you are not forgotten and your memories live on with all of us that had the chance to know you for such a short time.

Hi Janice - sorry you won't be in town for the class lunch but I know how important Jerry's work with the chorus is and I know you will have a great day with eveyone there.  Look forward to seeing you in September.

Mary Fleenor, Rich's wife, is the one to thank for the final push to get addtional information on classmates for the booklet and DVD.  Hundreds of hours have been spent working on our 50th Reunion Booklet and she has been unstopable in her quest of sending out requests for photos and information.  Everyone who has responded will make this a reunion to remember!  All of the Committee members have worked hard, from the  smallest details to decorations, to a tribute to our classmates who have passed,  to planning the dinner,  to designing the gifts and activities for Saturday evening, to all the many other details for the weekend, and to the many donations, both monetary and in time, to make this reunion special for everyone. Thanks to each and everyone of you.

I have not made reservations for lodging yet and wondered if there are any hotels linked with the Reunion?

Thanks!

I hope everyone is enjoying the pictures being posted from the reunion last weekend.  As we strive to label them all with names, please be so kind as to email me if you see that anyone is misidentified.  Thanks so much, and may I add a huge thank-you to all of you who made the effort to attend one or all of the events last weekend.  It was wonderful to see so many at each and every event - it surely makes the planning worthwhile.  I,for one, had a great time!

The 50th year class reunion was such a wonderful event!  So much fun!  So great to see so many old classmates.

It is hard to find adequate words to express my gratitude to the planning committee for putting together this wonderful weekend that we all had.  So many months and months of planning and preparation culminating in three days of pure fun and joyful reminiscing.  I love you guys for what you did for all the rest of us.  Thank you Brenda, Linda, Ed, Ray, Sharon, Joyce, Jim, Arvie, Mary Jo, Rich and Mary for your tireless work to make one of the most fun times I've ever had.

Though I know it's unlikely you guys will ever have the time or energy to pull off such an elaborate event again, I do hope that you continue the tradition you've begun.  Any one of the three events you guys  did this weekend would be more than enough to draw me back to our Alma Mater.

You guys are the best,

Walt

Walt - thank you so much for the kind words.  It was so great to see so many classmates return and reconnect with old friends.  The committee did work hard to make this a memorable occasion and I think we succeeded.  I'm so glad you and the others made the trip and took home many memories that will last a long time.

It was fun to see so many classmates. It just all went so fast! A special thanks to Moe and Steve Cotterman for welcoming me into their home for the weekend!

Now that the dust as settled, or almost,  from our fantastic weekend, I just want to thank everyone that came to our 50th Reunion.  The Committee had spent the last year and a half working on making it a memorable weekend and I think they succeeded.  No matter what was asked of them individually or as a group, they worked hard to make sure every detail was taken care of.  They were amazing - the decorations, the Memory Table, the bookets, the photos, the gifts to the classmates, the picnic, and most importantly, the weather  - just awesome!  I hope that everyone who attended will let each committee member know how much their hard work is appreciated.  We do have extra coffee mugs available for $5.00 each for those who would like additional cups.

Again, it was great seeing everyone and spending time together reminiscing, sharing laughs and finally finding out who a couple of the tricksters were that harrassed certain teachers!

Love, Love, Love being met by a wave from Ray, aka Santa Claus when checking in on the home page.  I wish everyone the Merriest of Christmases and a healthy and happy year ahead.

Addendum:  I just tabbed on down on the Home Page and found the "other" new picture.  Who are those boys??  I recognize John Kleiber and Chuck Spetz (I think), but am not able to identify the others.  What fun!!!

And, on down further on the Home Page, a fabulous shot of the "cheerleaders."  Those of you who aren't scrolling down or checking all of the Home Page are missing something.
