John Richard (Rich) Fahrenkrug (Date of Death 12-16-2023)  was born in Dayton, Ohio in the summer of 1946 to Gwendolyn (Rymell) and John.  He spent his youth there, with his older sister Lyn and his younger brother Ed .  He enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Vandalia, Ohio, often reminiscing over the house his mother built with her own two hands.

A creek crossing through the family property led  to an introduction to Rick's amusement for fishing, a gift that connected him to many friends, family and community members throughout his lifetime.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyun and John Fahrenkrug.  He is survived by his wife, Lil; sister Lyn Griffith; brother Edward (kelly); brother in law Chuck (Pat) Koranda; sister in law Mary Jo Koranda; children Annie (Eric Knudson); Joe (Katie Rozas); grandchildren Emmet, Oliver and Arlo Knudson, and Lilliana and Clara, nieces and nephews John and Matt Dawson, Jeff Griffith, Eddie and Kaylyn, Jenny (Scott) Estness and Laura (Chris) Knutson.  He leaves behind many wonderful firends.

A celebration of life for Rick will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of services.  The service will be livestreamed on the Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home facebook page.
