WINKLER, Karen S. age 62 of Englewood, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati after a lengthy illness. She was born November 7, 1945 in Dayton, daughter of the late Jack R. & Dorothy J. Scherschell. She was a 1964 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School. Karen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lester L. Winkler; 1 daughter, Shelly Winkler of Dayton; 1 brother, Jack R. Jr. & wife, Rebecca Scherschell of TX; 1 aunt, Patricia A. Robinson of Englewood; 1 cousin, Robin & husband, Ed Atchison of Mason; niece & nephews, Ryan & Darby Scherschell and Rodney & Jeffrey Winkler; dear friends, Phyllis & Robert Duncan and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, November 30 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Michael Gallagher officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in Karen's memory.
