Bonnie Kesling

Taken from a news article in the Miam Herald, Novembr 14, 1996:  With a little bit of magic and a lot of love, Bonnie Kesling makes music with mentally and physically disabled children.  Kesling founded the Genie's Workshop six years ago after closing a corporate law practice to follow her first love - music.  Through her program, children with disabilities learn about music and get to perform.  Kesling has 25 students who study piano, violin and singing with her privately.  In the past six years, the children have performed for than 300 times....

Bonnie was in my girl scott troop. She was kind and gentle person. In our times we would call her classy. She treated everyone with respect and caring. I am sorry I couldn't know her after school ended. Yet, I am sad at her passing.

Wow. Is this ever sad news! Whenever I think of some of the people I knew and spent time with in High School--I think of Bonnie (and her sister, Nancy, too.) These were (I assume Nancy is still living) talented and charming young ladies. Bonnie had the lead in one of our school plays her senior year, playing the lead role in "Carnival." This lady could sing! "I come from a town called Mira, beyond the bridges of St. Claire. I know you've never heard of Mira, it's so very far away from here...and everybody knows my name." Bonnie performed this part beautifully. Whenever I think of Vandalia, the good times, and the distance between us now, I hear Bonnie sing this. Her Oboe solos in band were superb, too. May God Bless Bonnie. What a great kid!

I am so shocked by all the talented classmates that are gone.  Life is too short to not live, & enjoy every minute of it.

I remember Bonnie as allways being busy w/ some project at school.  She was a lovely person, "so sad; & surprised that She is gone...  May god rest Her spirit.
