Judy and I started first grade together at Murlin Heights. Judy had a great love of people and could remember so many things from school that others had forgotten. We had a lot of good times laughing over some of the stunts that happened over the years and she was always the one we turned to when we needed to remember something or someone. I miss my friend and I'll always remember her smile and incredible memory ....though sometimes embarrassing, but always funny! I miss you, my friend, rest in peace.

Judi and I met our first day of school in the 7th grade. We had gone to different elementary schools so we didn't know each other. We sat next to each other in study hall. We found a common connection - we discovered that we were in the same dance class when we were about 3 years old. From then on we became best friends forever. I have wonderful memories of great times with her and her family. I miss you terribly, Judi.

As I remember it, Judi and I became friends in the fifth grade. That year the Fieldhouse was transformed into four classrooms (two fifth and two sixth grade classes). Those of us in those classes were bound for the new Stonequarry Elementary which opened midway through our fifth grade year. We continued to run around together in the sixth grade (teacher: Mrs. VanScoyk). We served as Red Cross Representatives and spent lots of time together working on projects for that organization. I also remember a talent show but cannot remember whether it was fifth or sixth grade. Judi and I along with Mary Welty, Jackie Harris (I think) as well as a couple of others pantomimed the song, "Lollipop." I'm sure Judi masterminded the activity; she was always coming up with fun things to do. Judi and I spent time at the 40th reunion talking about these memories. Who would have suspected that she would be gone so soon after that...much too soon.

There was only one Judy Miller Barton, and I truly believe that the Lord broke the mold after that. Judy had a gift of touching people that others couldn't even get near. Judy had a nature, or character if you will, about her that she would leave no one untouched. Our lost was truly heavens gain. Yes, Judy will be missed, but never forgotten. Ray J.

I have both fond and fun memories of Judi, from playing on the 1st grade playground at Murlin to serving at each other's wedding to sharing maternity clothes!! Our Moms worked together and were friends before we were born, so it seems I've known Judi forever! Judi and I exchanged birthday cards each year - our birthdays were 2 days apart and I always teased her about being my older friend!! We kept in touch over the years and I was one of many who prayed for her recovery. Judi was truly one of my oldest friends and, by the way, I was one of those who did the "Lollipop" performance that Linda Bourne mentioned...and I'm pretty sure it was one of Judi's many creative ideas!!! It will seem truly strange to have a class reunion without Judi.

JUDI WAS MY MY LIFELONG FRIEND. WE HAD BEEN PLAYMATES BEFORE KINDERGARTEN. LIKE BRENDA MENTIONED, YOU COULD ALWAYS ASK JUDI ABOUT SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE HAVING TROUBLE RECALLING AND SHE ALWAYS HAD THE ANSWER. SHE ALWAYS REMINDED ME OF MY SISTER SANDY'S BIRTHDAY WHICH WAS THE SAME WEEK AS HERS. WE BECAME CLOSE FRIENDS AS TWO OF OUR CHILDREN WERE IN THE SAME CLASS AT VANDALIA. WE WENT ON A COUPLE OF VACATIONS TOGETHER. I TOO, MISS JUDI ALOT....
