David was born on Sunday, April 22, 1945 to Homer Lee (1911-1994) and Aline Emma (Stull) (1915-2007) Miller in Dayton, Ohio, who preceded him in death. David was a Member of the Vandalia-Butler Class of 1962 and the football team that became the 1961 Southwestern Buckeye League Champs. David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and went to work in the construction and transportation indusrtriess. David is buried at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West 3rd Street, Daytonh, OH.
