David L. Winert, 77, of Troy, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 in Kettering Medical Center.

David was born November 22, 1944 in Troy, Ohio the son of the late Charles and Frances (Coss) Winert.  He was a graduate of Vandalia High School.  For 43 years, David was employed with Hobart Brothers as a welder.  He enjoyed rebuilding cars in his younger days.  You could always find him tinkering around in his garage and working on things around the house.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his four-legged companions, especially Sam and Seamus.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Winert; children, Leslie M. (Sara) Feller, Angela R. (Joseph) Laughman, Charlene L. (Shawn) Stout and David J. (Jennifer) Winert; 7 grandchildren as well as 7 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his  parents; brother, Charles Winert II and mother-in-law, Emma Sloan-Gilmore.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
