Hi Everybody!

It seems that only Joe, Rosalie, Alex and Arsenio are are on the message forum. Maybe others don't have a PC or unable to communicate. How can we get in touch with classmates by writing or telephones. We need a list of names, addresses and telephone numbers.

I was so helpless to learn about classmates until I went back home last April 11, 2009. I met Pacita Filart-Bautista. Pacita called Rosalie and she contacted Joe Purugganan. That's how I came to know this website. But I am no expert of Pc. I still have not done the pictures in my profile.

Hope everybody will find their way somehow and we will get together for old time sake.

Missed you all. May God Bless Us Till We Meet Again.

Linda,

Thank you for your message. I read it carefully and then read it once more. For every food mentioned, I paused to recall the taste. Kilawen a kalding, dinengdeng, fritada, malaga, etc...., ah, how lucky you are to have those! Once in a long while, some of them are available here too, but they do not taste the same as you have there. I think the good flavor comes from the local seasoning you use (bago-ong, patis, sukang iloco, and asin (from the sea) which are hard to find here.

Ala, naimbag nga aldaw yo amin!

Mangan tayo manen!

Hi, Linda:
A warm komusta for you and family. Thanks for mentioning me in your posting here. That reminded me of you. Am-ammoka unay ta sikatka idi. You were very athletic then in high school. Ti ad-adda a pakalagipak kenka ket ti patikagkag ti blommer-mo iti valleyball, duakayo ken ni Antonia Coronel.

I dont know if you knew me personally. No am-ammonak man a personal, malagipnak pay ngata? Matandaanam daydi bassit a nataraki a section 2? Saan a siak daydiay. Ni Moises Lazo. Nga idi 2007 Golden jubilee gala night, pinaguniak ket inignornak. No malagipmo nga adda bassit ken timmangkiran ti pugotna a kakuykuyog idi da Antonio Guillen, Braulio Afroilan, Francisco Tabisula, Ale Andrion, Carlito Virtudez ken sagpaminsan a kaay-ayammi ti pinnalsiitan, ( rubber band & rolled paper) ni Aquilino Lazo (dinan malagip), siak daydi.

We use to go there at Chula Vista. That is a concentration of most Filipinos especially those who were in the US Navy. Dita ngamin ti yan dagiti dadakkel, napipintas a balbalay a nabangon idi late 80s.

Ale Andrion was here in Los Angeles area a couple of weeks a week ago. Ngem dikami nakapagkita. He asked me to arrange a meeting and get-to-gether with the rest of our co-alumni around here. But I was then really busy going back and forth to Las Vegas for important things that I need to finish before we go back to the Philippines. We are here on a 3 months vacation. We (with Trinidad) are going back home May 23.

Basbsaek dagiti profilestayo nga adda ditoy USA, naggagasatkayo. Me? I passed a lot of hardship iti panagteggedko ditoy. Agasenyo, nagmo-monlightak a naglako ti kaldero ken Amway a nakaduak Cesar Ramirez ken dagidi Mr. Mrs. Ruben Tagalog. I even experienced selling discount cards with Lani Oteyza.I was also an insurance agent for many years while I worked as CSR of RR Donnelley & Sons (13 yrs) and the Crestec Los Angeles for 15 years wnere I retired.

Nasken nga immagawaak. Nagadu ngamin ti annakmi. Ket dita met ti yan ti gasatmi. Ditakami ken Mrs. Cortez a nangipakita ti kina-athletic-mi. No nalaingka idi a pitcher ti softball, ken nasiglat met daydi Mang Dencio a catcher ti baseball, I was also a good pitcher; Trinidad was my good catcher! Hehehehe...!

Let us look forward to see each other come 2010 Reunion time in Hawaii.

For Rosalie & Aquilino:
I have been in good company with Reynaldo Alconis for several years until he retired from the DMV in 2002. Since then, I have not heard about him. I suspect that he has moved to the Sacramento area.

Rosalie, adda simmangpet idiay Pilipinas a classmate-tayo, ni Efren Tejada a taga Basug, Santa. Naibilinko iti kasinsin ni Trining nga idanonda daytoy ken ni Pacing. Will you find out from Pacing about this?

Rosalie, the information re Nards' stroke came from me.
I mentioned to Alex in our conversation two weeks ago. A townmate of Nards (Mr. Constante Samonte)who came back from a two months vacation told me about that. PLS verify this. My mistake I did not do that before I spread the news. Sorry I might have caused alarm among our fellow alumni.

Re Joe Alconis, he is a younger brother of Rey. I will try to drop by at their house tonite.

Hello! Arsenio & Alex, Thank you for clarifying the message about Nards. Yes, please try to locate Reynaldo Alconis. I've learned from the relative of Tomas Pagaoa, Jr. whom I thought I've located, but it was his same name relative & he told me that our classmate Tomas Pagaoa, Jr. had passed away already. Talk to you again soon.
stay well & happy! Rosalie

Hi everybody. Good to hear from all of you.

Arsenio, Did you really remember all of the events in our high school days? You have a vivid memory. I have to be honest with you because I can't picture in my mind your little mischevous face or any guy.

You have to count yourself one of the most skilled, successful businessman. Having a three months vacation to the Philippines, business in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and having seven kids.

And I am really wanting to see you one day.

Alex, thank you for your birthday greetings and keeping in touch. You and Arsenio have to plan ahead of time for a short get together for us here in mainland and a big reunion in Honolulu next year, God willing.

Rosalie, I have not talked to you recently because I told you I run out of words. I was busy mailing some pictures to friends and relatives in PI. I called Soledad Quintos, Norma Espirutu, Amelia Gonzlez and Salome Ablaya. Thank you for the rooster you send me.

Take care everyone. I look forward to read the Message Forum.

Hello Rosalie, Arsenio, Alex, and Y’all!

I apologize for answering late. It is planting time here in NC. I have been busy planting flowers and starting a small vegetable garden. What have I been planting? For vegetables, so far I have planted a few eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes. Did I mention ampalaya? For flowers, I planted both floribunda and grandiflora roses (Knockout, Peace, Mr. Lincoln, Imperial), vinca, impatiens, and petunia. I also nursed some mums and snap dragons that survived our mild winter.

I am very sorry to hear about “Banning” (Abraham). We grew up together and were almost inseparable from elementary to high school - where I was, he was also there. I remember him for his infectious laugh. He could make me laugh about any subject. And we laughed together until our sides ached. I saw him only a few times more after our high school graduation. I guess that we both were in Manila pursuing higher education but unaware of each other’s location. Oh well, I hope that someday, behind the pearly gates, we will meet and laugh again!

Arsenio…
So, it is you who shot me behind the ear with a rolled paper bullet (propelled by a rubber band). It landed behind my ear and as I recall, it was painful. Brother, you have one coming. Remember, revenge is sweet. I am just kidding, of course!

On a more serious matter…if you happen to find out where Rey Alconis is, please let me know. As you know, Rey and I are from different towns, but we have many things in common. Our moms were from the same barrio in Badoc. During school breaks, I was exiled there to learn the ropes about farming. My parents ruled that if I did not do well in school, I should become a farmer instead. Rey, I suspect, was also sent there for the same reason. Another thing that I have in common with Rey: In Manila during our college days, we shared the same apartment.

Alex…
You and I did not have many interactions and as such you may not even remember me. That is OK. Perhaps, you were not as naughty as Arsenio. As I found out, Arsenio is not somebody you mess with. Hit him and he would hit you right back - harder. Oh well, that is what I got for childish horseplay.

There is one guy that was probably the naughtiest in our class: Mariano Baltazar. Does anybody know where he is? I also want to say hello to him.

Classmates…
This is all again. Y’all write, you hear?

Rolando Dizon

To All Members of Class '57

Fifty three (53) years ago, I can vividly remember the joys of graduating and plans to go to college; sadness for separating from friends/classmates, teachers, and for leaving the ISNHS campus! A total of 313 graduates- all full of dreams/ambitions/aspirations - composed the Class of 1957. We all remember our teachers (real professionals and dedicated) who molded us to become what we are today.
I, myself, remembered how our class advisers/teachers confided to me that due to lack of residence (I was a transferee from Araullo High School - Manila) I will not be included among the honor graduates! I accepted the decision sadly but I am proud to be a member of Class '57. I learned a lot from our teachers who inspired me to strive for excellence in life and eventually attained my dreams.

As I read the many messages/blogs from all of you, I am really proud of all your accomplishments. The Class of 1957 lives on! Mabuhay!

To the Lolos and Lolas, congratulations! To those who decided to stay in the Philippines like me, let us strive and continue to help in nation building. And to those who are in the U.S. and other parts of he world, we appreciate your continuing interest as Filipinos!

Happy Easter to all and may the Living God continue to guide and bless all of us!

Hello everybody!

Our class reunion is a few months away. Have you consider having a vacation in Honolulu or meet with our alumni having a reunion once again? This is the time we share some of our life experiences: happiness, family, pain and life during our retirement.

I am sure Rosalie will be glad to receive the confirmation and check so she can reserve our function activities.

For Rosalie, is there a way we can encourage our friends to join the website? You have the list of email addresses. Maybe send it to Joseph Purugganan and invite them in our website. Most of us are retired and by using the computer is one advantage to prevent Alzeihmer.

For example, Rolando Dizon emailed me. I was so happy and surprise to hear from him. I look forward for everybody to do the same---sharing our lives.

Hope that the website is our place of communicating and post some pictures. This is all for now.

Good to hear from you Rosalie.  You keep updated all the time.

I tried to call Virginia Reynolds but the answering machine was on.  I also called Salome Ablaya Javier but she is in Vigan right now and will be back on the middle of May.  Her sister said that her big problem will be transportation to join us.  I attemped and tried to send and invitation to all our alumni to join the web.  I hope they will respond.

Well, we keep up trying to encourage them to join.  Like you said, it is good to hear from everybody.

Aloha

Dear Rosalie,

I am glad to hear from you encouraging and reminding our alumni to join the  reunion in Honolulu.  How else can we persuade them to attend.  I hope that they give importance to you who work so hard to have this event to happen.  Only our presence will culminate the completion of our social occasion.  But I still have hope that they will wait for the last minute and will surprise you.

And to you my friends, have a happy and safe 4th of July.
