Creta H. Becker, 91, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Autumnwood, after a brief illness.

Born in Pierre, S.D., Mrs. Becker resided in Wadsworth since 1945. She attended Northern State Teachers College in South Dakota and the University of Akron. She was an elementary teacher at Isham and Valleyview, retiring in 1975 with 14 years service, and previously taught in Brookings, S.D. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, D.A.R., Wadsworth Woman's Club, Medina County Teachers Retirement Association, and Parmi Nous. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

Mrs. Becker is survived by children, William and wife, Carol, of Wadsworth, Mary Kay Estep of Rittman, Thomas and wife, Kay, of City of Green; grandchildren, Jeff, Cindy, Jennifer, Julie, Chris, Shaun, and Alayne; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, William M.; parents, Guy and Gertrude Rogers Grandle; and brother, J. Warren Grandle.

The family will receive friends Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Funeral services Monday, 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High St., the Reverend Daniel J. Cammarn and Rev. Ann Paynter officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
