William H. Heasley, 80, of Parrish, died Oct. 4, 1996.

He was born June 2, 1916, in Akron, Ohio, and came to Manatee County from Kent, Ohio, in 1983. He taught vocational  studies in Wadsworth, Ohio, for 10 years. He was a Methodist. He was an Eagle Scout and assistant scoutmaster of Troop 302 in Akron, Ohio.  He was a member of the Lions Club in Kent, Ohio, and  Methodist Church in Brimfield, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Derry; two sons, Dennis G. of Cornville, Ariz., and W. Derry of Gloucester, Mass.; a sister, Mary Helen Wilkinson of San Jacinto, Calif.; two brothers, Fred of Huntington, Ind., and Robert of Akron; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parrish Methodist Church. National Cremation Society is in charge.
