Tyson Houchin

Tyson E. Houchin, 50, of Lower Nazareth Township, formerly of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Amy E. (Hervol) Houchin. The couple celebrated 23 years of marriage last October. Born in Barberton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jesse E. and Judith A. (McCrork) Houchin. He was a graduate of Wadsworth High School, Class of 1990, and attended the University of Cincinnati. Ty was most recently employed at Holcim Cement Co. in Northampton, formerly Lafarge, as an environmental quality control and public relations manager. Prior to that, he was the district manager of the northeast region for Montrose Environmental Air Quality Services, where he was employed for 23 years. Ty dearly loved his wife and children, who were a great source of pride for him. He cherished spending time with them and was very active in youth sports, serving as a coach and director during the years in which his children were playing. Although he was a novice golfer, he enjoyed the game and once had a hole-in-one. Known as a Mr. Fixit, Ty enjoyed tinkering with antique cars, and loved riding his Harley. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Amy, he will be deeply missed by their children, Alex of Wilmington, North Carolina, Ben, Luke and Emma, all at home; mother-in-law, Ruth (Mazak) Hervol; brother-in-law, David Hervol and wife, Hennie; and nephew, Peter Hervol, all of Olmsted Township, Ohio.
