Dawn Luick, 52, Fairmount, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at her mother's home in Great Bend, North Dakota under the loving care of her soul mate, Ted Luick, and her mother, as well as her family and Riveredge Hospice, after a brief battle with cancer. The family gathering will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wahpeton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Great Bend Park Department. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Dawn was born on April 4, 1962 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Earl and Darlene (Zettler) Ziegelmann. She attended school in Great Bend and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1980. Upon graduation, she began working for 3M/Imation in Wahpeton. On September 17, 1983, she married Chuck Rossow in Mooreton, North Dakota. Together they had three children. She and Chuck later divorced. Through the years Dawn worked at various places in the area until joining Walmart in Wahpeton when it opened in 2007, working as a floor zone manager to the present time. She was an extremely hard worker, and her dedication to her job and her co-workers was unsurpassed.

Dawn was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fairmount and was in the church's Ladies Circle. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. After her playing days were over, she enjoyed sewing, embroidering, reading, gardening, and canning her homegrown produce. She was an excellent cook and baker, and she loved sharing recipes with her family. A favorite pastime and stress reliever was to visit the casino with Ted, and a favorite memory was when she would sneak there with her dad. Over the past nine years, she and Ted have shared many wonderful moments together. Of all the things Dawn loved in life, her family was the most loved and most important to her. Her children meant more to her than they could ever know, and the time spent with her grandchildren was never enough. Dawn will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Dawn is survived by her children, Derrick (Katie) Rossow, Great Bend, ND, Chance (Dallas) Havig, Washburn, ND, Courtney Rossow and her special friend, Jared Fisher, Wahpeton, ND; Ted Luick, Fairmount, ND, and his children, Brianna (Nick) Hoefert, and Brennan Luick, both Wahpeton, ND, and Valerie Luick, Great Bend, ND; her grandchildren, Amelia Rossow, Bralyn and Blaik Havig, and Makayla and Jaelyn Hoefert; her mother, Darlene Ziegelmann, Great Bend, ND; her sisters, Carmen (Sheldon) Smith, Arlington, SD, Donna (David) Buskohl, Wyndmere, ND, Vickie (Kevin Nobrega) Smith, Mound, MN; her brother-in-law, Tom (Denise Breuer) Kubela, Wahpeton, ND; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
