Steven Wojick

Steven Wojick

Steven Thomas Wojcik left this Earth and went home to God on Friday, April 5, 2013. He was the beloved "Special Angel" of Rose M. (Powers-Coyne) and Francis J. Wojcik Sr. Born on the 28th day of September 1981, he was considered his Mother's special gift from God. He was a very loving and devoted son; always worrying of the needs of others. From a very early age, he decided to pursue a career in teaching. He received his B.A. in History and his Masters in Elementary Education; as well as a certification in Special Education/Children with Disabilities. He pursued his dream to Cortez, Colo. where he was a Special Education teacher for the New Wings Program at Manaugh Elementary School. He loved his job, the wide-open spaces of Colorado, and most of all, he loved his students. He truly cared for each of them and hoped to make a positive impression in their lives. Steven loved to play hockey, was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Rangers, and loved his basset hound, Maya, and calico, Hayley Rose. He will be sorely missed by his brother, Francis J. Wojcik Jr. and his partner, Lynea; and his sister, Kristen Anne Madel and her husband, Eric; as well as six nieces and nephews, Max, Alex, and Nick Wojcik and Alexa, Jaxon, and Evan Madel. He is also survived by his aunts, Kathy Minasi (Vinny), and Terri Miller (Thomas); his uncles, Thomas Coyne (Jackie), and Robert Ciccarone, Leo and Sue Lachowicz; his God Parents, Jim and Elisa Popovich; as well as many cousins. Steven will also be missed by his many friends, especially, Travis Graff and Maria Lueck. Steven was pre-deceased by and will join in Heaven, his maternal great-grandmother, Nellie Simrany; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Helen Wojcik; his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Rose M. Coyne; and his aunt and uncle, Mary Ellen Wojcik Ciccarone and Thomas Wojcik.
