WCHS Class of 1986
Farewell Message
Dear Classmates,
Andrea and I were honored to co-chair our 25th class reunion.
The reunion took place over 2 months ago and although it took some of us longer than others, by now we should have recuperated from all the fun we had – and boy did we have some fun!
Before saying good-bye, there are a few more thank yous and acknowledgements I want to cover:
I must say again how grateful we are to Paula Evans for sticking with us till the very end.
We made a great team - Team PAT (Paula, Andrea, Tonya)
Bobby Andrews didn’t make it to the reunion, but Bobby if you are reading this, we thank you for helping us get set up in the beginning stages with the EIN number, the mailbox and also for helping us cover the hotel deposit. We appreciate you! Thanks also to Jennifer Brayboy Locklear for helping us with the deposit. We really missed you guys at the reunion!
To everyone who helped with decorating and participating in the program on Saturday and Sunday, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
I’m sure you all agree that seeing Mr. Hudgins again was one of THE highlights of Saturday night (right up there with the Soul Train Line!) I sent him a Thank You note from all of us.
That was some message King Perry delivered at our worship service on Sunday! Thanks King!
A very special Thank You goes out to Raymond Holland, the husband of Lisa Collier Holland. Many of you don't know this, but our projector gave us some trouble on Friday night and we could not get it to work. Raymond left the meet and greet, went back home to pick up his projector and let us use it for the entire weekend. He doesn’t know this but he saved a life because I was surely about to have a heart attack! Thanks again Raymond…..and Lisa!
We also wanted to say thanks to those classmates who couldn’t make it for the entire reunion, but still contributed to the expenses. We really appreciate your donation! It was much needed!
I’m sure everyone remembers Ms. Tillery. I believe she taught typing back in the day at WCHS. If I'm not mistaken, she is an Assistant Superintendent now. Well, Andrea and I saw her in Wal-Mart on Saturday before our Black and White Night. She sent her love to the class and wished us all well. She also left us with a lovely quote before we said good-bye. It went a little something like this:
Take a look around….You will never be in the same room, at the same time, with the same people ever again, so continue to pray for each other, embrace each other, and love each other….but most of all….Keep in touch!
Sound familiar? Yall didn’t think I made that up myself Saturday night during the closing remarks, did you? LOL
Andrea wanted me to let you all know that she enjoyed this experience to the MAX and then some! I feel the same way.
What’s next you ask?
Andrea had a great idea for us to stay connected. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on our Facebook Group Page regarding a get together next year during the WCHS Homecoming! We can keep in touch by checking in from time to time on our page (as long as it is free we can keep it going!) We will also keep the database going, so if you move, make sure you email your updated information to me.
Well, that’s it for now.
The website will expire on November 10, 2011
(unless someone makes a donation to keep it up!)
Please make sure you log on at least one more time before it comes down. I have posted the reunion financial report on the site. Just click the 'Financial Report' link to the left of the homepage. It will be posted there until the site expires.
Also
Make sure you check out the pictures from the reunion on our website. Just click the 'Photos/Memories' link to the left of the homepage, and then select the 'A Silver Affair' slideshow.
I have attached some special music to it…..enjoy.
We wish everyone well and we hope to see you next year!
