Welcome to the McKinley Tech High Class Of 1976 web site. For this website to be successful, I need your help. Go to the Classmate profiles and click on your name to register on the website. If your name is not in the Classmate Profile, send me an email and I will add your name to the list. After you have joined, you can add as little or as much information to your profile as you desire.

This is our website, feel free to add pictures. This web site will be used to disseminate information about McKinley events and to reach out to our fellow classmates regarding our 40th Class Reunion which will be held on August 6, 2016 at the Greenbelt Marriott. Our class consisted of over 700 graduates and I want to reach out to many of our classmates as possible. Help me to achieve this goal.

1976 was the year for the great Techite revolution. Just as our forefathers changed their world two hundred years ago, so we changed our school. For the first time, McKinley became more than just the best academic high school in the District; it became an institution of higher learning for many gifted students.

Under the direction of our principal, Dr. Athel Q. Liggins, college level courses in English, French, Spanish, calculus and economics were initiated and Advanced Placement classes in other disciplines were planned. McKinley also began a close academic relationship with Georgetown University and back then D.C. Teachers College.

Did everybody wake up? Indeed, we did-to a new world of distinguished scholarship and succesful men and women.

"Wake up everybody, no more sleeping in bed. No more backward thinking, time for thinking ahead"

Michael McCrimmon
