Roger lived in Marthasville as a child and Gainesville, Florida as an adult. In 1972 he graduated from the University of MO with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Agriculture Department. He continued on to receive a master’s degree in fishery biology. He was married to Anne Lowell in 1977. Roger was the father of a son and daughter. He was the Senior Marine Biologist at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.
