Sandra Ashton Stevens

A little know fact about myself, my real first name is Alexandria, but when I begin school at 5 years old, I refused to learn to spell such a long name, so my parents decided to teach me to spell Sandra, and I remained Sandra even thru nursing school, and it was not until I began working as an RN that I was finally made to use the name Alexandria!

I transferred to Watervliet near the end of my second year of high school from Corinth, NY. Since Corinth only required 3 years of Social Studies to graduate and Watervliet required 4 years, I had to double up in my junior year. The difference between the two schools was very small town vs large city school! I enjoyed Watervliet very much.
