Worked at several site South Korea, 72-77 and traveled widely in Asia.
Returned to Hawaii and worked there until 1998 when I retired.
'98 to 2004 lived in Michigan, my wife's home state.
2004 after her death went to Arizona and was care giver for my parents.
Mom died at 96 in 2005. I hated the desert heat moved my dad to
Weaverville, NC (close to Asheville) until his passing in 2007 at 98.
Left NC in 2009 with my two Ladies, my beloved pugs, and moved to San Juan Cosala, MX about 35km south of Guadalajara. Guad is too big, 3.5 million, and congested. I live in a gated community on the slope of a mountain at 5,500 ft overlooking Lake Chapala, the largest freshwater lake in MX. Cost of living is low, food is cheap, as is medical and dental.
I have a maid, $12.5 USD a week, and a gardener $25 twice a week.

I have a nephew by marriage who is a MX national. He and his young family are now my family. They live in Guad. but look forward to getting to my place, my open air teraza and the peace and quiet of the lake.

I no longer travel. Airplanes are too crowded, seats are too compacted, and the terminals awful. I traveled during my career, Korea, HongKong, Bangkok, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia especially Bali. I've been to Bali over a dozen times. I wanted to retire there however my wife's rapidly failing health in her last 8 years precluded the move.

Health care here in MX, in Guad. is world class. I have a very comfortable feeling about my future here. My home is comfortable, spacious and the view is awesome.
