Sr Elizabeth Moore,OSF (Faculty -History)

Sister Maureen Peter, Mo Pete, Sister Elizabeth Moore, Betty Moore, "Aunt Betty"...Our dear teacher, mentor, friend, and so much more to so many, passed on December 6, 2020. This is a sad day as she joins too many more of our friends and loved ones in the eternal realm.

I would believe that there is no one among us who doesn't have a story to tell, a tale to share, a laugh to burst, or a tear to shed in memory of Betty Moore. We will always remember the guidance she gave, the discipline she rendered, the lessons she taught, the love she shared.  She was truly unique in all the world.

Rest in peace dear Sister! You are missed. You are loved.

So many NAMES but one HUGE HEART!  Yes, "AUNT BETTY"  will be deeply missed. I know she was already planning to be at our 50th...and I am certain the when it does actually happen...she will be present and we will feel her amazing spirit! I feel blessed to have had her in my life in a small way over all these years. I am just imagining MO-Pete and MO-Pat together again with a full IRISH celebration!

Sr. Maureen Peter was the teacher that I think about often. She sparked in me an interest in history, it was 9th grade I think. She praised me because I read ahead in the text book. However she wanted Ravens and I wanted Cougars.  From VietNam I sent her a Jade Buddha. I visited her in the mid 80's. It was the first time I saw her hair, and she was running the cheerleaders and she had more energy then I.  She asked me  about the Brahmaputra.river in India. The love of History  she installed in me was the seed that eventually grew into my years of lecturing about Civil War Hisory.  I will mss her greatly.

Although it's been years since I'd seen her, she lives in my memory as the teacher who made history come alive. I've told so many people about her. She will be missed.

A wonderful person and teacher who instilled in me a love of history and confidence in myself. I am in debt to her for my success and my continued love of history! My last interaction was buying some cakes from her for her pet project with children.

An irreplaceable void has been created.  Sr. Betty's enthusiasm and zest will be genuinely missed.  She brought history alive as no one else could.  It's incredible how decades later you can still recall something she covered in class.  Her love for SJB and our class was boundless!   While she unfortunately will not be joining us for our terrestial 50th reunion, you know she is rocking at the celestial reunion which has already begun.
