Obituary:

DeAnne L. O'Donnell, 41, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of May 18, 2006.

Booie, as she was called by her family and many friends, was born on Dec 22, 1964 at Lamar, CO., the daughter of Ron and Maggie Goody Christy of West Liberty and Charles O'Donnell of Cedar Rapids.  Booie loved her family and friends, nature and her pets. Three years ago, she fought and won her battle with breast cancer, but her valiant effort to overcome Alpha 1 - Anti-trypsin Deficency was not to be.

Left to mourn her passing are her parents, three brothers, Dennis of West Branch; Dan of West Liberty; David and his wife, Dena, of Wellman. She also has two step-brothers, Rod (Ronda) Christy of West Liberty and Mark (Diane) Christy, of Springdale, AR., and three step-sisters; Pam (Scott) Fordyce of Altoona; Ronda Spilger of Iowa City; and Marsha (Tim) Furlong of Muscatine, along with many nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles.

 
Her ashes will be taken to Klein Cemetery in rural Muscatine Co. for a private burial, but her soul is with God. A celebration of her life will be held at First Church United on Saturday, June 3, 2006 in West Liberty.

Thanks to the wonderful people at Hospice, DeAnne was able to spend her last couple days at home where she was comfortable and was able to pet her cat.
