Obituary:

Armando Z. Partida, age 26, died early Tuesday morning, March 19, 1991, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following an extended illness.

He was born on September 8, 1964 in Del Rio, Texas, the son of Emilio and Eustolia Zulaica Partida.
He was a graduate of the Class of 1984, West Liberty High School. He attended the University of Iowa, majoring in physical education, and would have graduated this coming year. For the past five years, he has been employed as groundskeeper at the West Liberty Fairgrounds.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Juan Partida and Ramon Partida, both of West Liberty; his grandmother, Mrs. Esther Zulaica of West Liberty and Mrs. Jovita Partida of Del Rio, Texas; and his fiancée; Marilee Stagg of West Liberty. He was preceded in death by one brother and his grandfathers.

Funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 21 at 11a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Mike Colonnese officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Reed, Keith Rozelle, Barney Bernaldo, Sergio Zamora, Kurt Heckman and Brian Roberts. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday after 1 p.m. at the Barker Funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
