In Memory

Sandy Gunderson (Hoglund)

I received the text below from Sandy's youngest daughter after I sent out the 70th birthday celebration email.  For those of you that do remember Sandy, she was always a happy gal.  It has been two years since she passed, but our sympathy goes out to her family and friends.

Jill, Thank you so much for your kind words. my mom was an amazing woman. I definitely miss her laugh and being able to talk to her everyday. Mom retired from the University of St. Thomas in may of 2014. In Aug of 2014 she found out that she had Stage 4 Kidney Cancer. I went with mom to all of her appointments. We had found out that it had spread to all of her bones. I looked at the xray with her. It was extremely scary. They said that there was no cure for this. That maybe if she had chemo that it could possibly slow it down. before she started that. She had to have surgery to put a rod in her leg. So that it didnt break. After the recovery, she did two chemo treatments. The Cancer was eating her bones. I took care of her til the end. Mom went into Hospice on April 11th, 2015. The day after her Birthday. And She passed peacefully with all of us by her side on April 23, 2015.

And to your question about posting moms death. Yes you can. She was a private person.
But, mom is missed everyday.
Thank you. Christina Laes
