Services for Rhonda Cates, 67, of Whitehouse, TX, will be held on Saturday, January 29, at 1:30pm at Whitehouse United Methodist Church with Rev. Trey Burns officiating.

Rhonda passed away on Monday, January 24th at Christus Trinity Hospital

Rhonda Pike was born April 10, 1954, in Dallas, TX, to Glendal & Mary Pike.

Rhonda graduated Whitehouse High School in 1972. She attended Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle. Rhonda graduated from University Texas Tyler in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a Coach/PE teacher at Brown Elementary for more than 25 years and named Teacher of the Year in 2003. Rhonda was married to Dennis Cates for 36 years. She loved animals and served fostering and rescuing dogs in her retirement years. 

Rhonda was a life-long member at Whitehouse United Methodist church serving as a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Glendal & Mary Pike.

Rhonda is survived by husband Dennis Cates, children Jennifer Gunter, Angela Holcomb, Craig Cates , brothers Gary Pike and Scott Callaway, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
