I remember when I heard about James, I was living in Commerce,Tx. then. I could not believe it. He was one of the good guys. He went too soon. What a stupid waste of human life. He never got the chance to live life to the fullest. James was a funny guy, him and that dang pet of his. What a shame.

Who can forget the parties at James's house, he knew how to throw one. What a great guy, even though he stole one of my girl friends. We were always good friends. He left us too soon, bless you friend...........

I miss you cousin, the memories of the fun with you, Barbara, Steve, George and Susan, were great. Yall use to show Randy, Donna and I the country life fun of going down streets at night without headlights, frog gigging, building forts in the Pine thicket by yalls house, riding horses and crusing the roads to see who was out. We always looked forward to coming to see yall. It was the best times of our lives......Thank you all and I know the good lord has you in his hands. Cuz you were always the kindest person to everyone.
Love ya forever

James was such a sweetheart. I had the biggest crush on him. I will always remember you cruising in the Grand Prix. I love the pictures posted in his memory.

For a dear brother - James,

I have been trying to write something on your memory page since April and have not been able to do so. To try made my heart ache and the tears fall. There is way too much to say, and it has been very hard to have to look at your name and photo in the Memory section of this website. BUT, I do believe that as the months went by, visiting the website began to help in this ongoing healing process that never seems to end. It has been a blessing to hear from and talk with those who loved you and miss you too. I am very grateful for that.

I have never been able to attend a Whitehouse Homecoming or other events there, but I did attend the WHS joint Reunion and took your High School letter jacket with me. I just wanted some part of you to be there. The whole evening was filled with so much comraderie, laughter and good fun. There were two Honor Boards set up at the Reunion to honor all our classmates who had passed. It made me sad to see how many photos were on them, and I thought about their families and loved ones. As I looked at your graduation picture, I wondered who you would have attended this reunion with, if you would have gained weight, lost hair, etc. You never got to grow older with the rest of us!

Yesterday was the anniversary of that terrible night thirty one years ago. I placed new flowers at your gravesite in honor of your memory and life.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful memories I have of being your sister.

Love you always,
Barbara

Another year has gone by already!  Two since I posted on here.  Thinking about you and how I always gave you a hard time about being as old as you for nine days!  It made you so mad when we were kids.  You had more privaleges because you were the oldest!  Happy Birthday, dear Brother.

In Remembrance of my older brother, James Rawls. It's hard to believe how long you've been gone from this earth. Remembering the good times, but acknowledging all that you missed by being taken at the young age of 22. You would be 67 years old today. Never got to marry, be a father, uncle or grandfather. Miss you, James. Love, Barbara
