Delpha was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met. We played softball together and I can still see her throwing that ball. She will be greatly missed and my family will keep her family in our prayers.

I will always remember Delpha with a smile on her face. A truly fine person from one of the best families in Whitehouse.

I,like everyone, was shocked to hear about Delpha. I have so many memories of all of us running the streets (dirt roads) of Whitehouse. As one of the "Whitehouse originals," it just seemed to me that we would all always be around. I, too am glad I got to see Delpha at the reunion, but it is also a reminder of how seldom we do visit with each other and how quickly life can throw us a curve ball. I don't want to be like my parents, only visiting with friends at the funeral of another friend. Most of us still live right around this area. Let's try to drop by and visit each other. I sure wish I had slowed down on thrill hill and stopped to say "hello."

When I met the ambulance at the hospital, I never imagined that I would be greeted by a Chaplin and ER Doctor with the tragic news, that Delpha has passed away. I am still devastated over the loss of my oldest and dearest friend. Since we were 2 yrs. old, always by my side in good and bad times. She was the kindest, funniest, smartest and best friend a person could have ever dreamed of having. The many, many bike rides with no hands down "thrill hill", the car wreck that we had after we graduated, and STILL calling each other every Christmas morning to see what Santa brought us...LOL has been a tradition we continued until this tragic day.

At 11:48 a.m. Sunday July 19, 2009, a big part of my life and heart went to a much better place. Rest in peace, my friend. Sleep with the angels, and know how much you were loved and will be missed.

Delpha and Pam Fielding were my first roomates after I graduated from whitehouse and we had some really fun times. I have alot of great Softball playing memories and of just riding around listening to music with me playing my drum sticks on the dashboard. I am still in shock and can only hope that this tragic loss will inspire those of us left to try to live healthy, stay close to old friends and always be prepared to meet our Maker. I will keep all of you- Delpha's friends and her family in my prayers.

Reading each person's comments has brought back so many memories of Delpha. As Becky said, the ride down Thrill Hill to this day reminds me of her. She and Pam were a fixture, never saw one without the other, so I know this is especially hard on her. Somewhere there's an Angel with a Keep on Truckin' shirt. Rest in peace.

Sneaking out of Aggie Sadler's shorthand class, countless burgers at The Corner and Brother Dave's, playing "Vehicle" and "The Horse", playing spades all the way to Colorado and back on our band trip - Delpha was a true friend. Her integrity, humor and intelligence always showed. She is already missed.
