Billy Hulon "Papa" Athey Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Tyler. He was born Feb. 27, 1959, in Dallas. 

Billy loved his family and the Lord and was happiest when he was around his grandbabies. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Hulon Athey Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Karen Athey; daughters, Kim Athey, Michelle Gallagher and Jennifer Coleman; sisters, Julie Marshall and Ann Athey; and four grandchildren, Emma, Alex, Jordan and Jacob.

A private family memorial will be held for Billy in Tyler. Local arrangements are with Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.
