I still think of Matt from time to time. He was a good friend. We had some great times on Friday and Saturday nights. Unfortunately Matt died in an auto accident in Lousianna. He, along with Buddy Fite, introduced me to my worst habit, Copenhagen.
A bit of laughter left the earth when Matt died. Matt loved a good time. I think he could make it through a class with Copenhagen in his mouth. I was blessed to maintain a friendship with Matthew while he was in the Coast Guard and was privileged to meet his children.
Matt - how much fun we had in "Mr. Red", on your house boat, Shakey's Pizza, and skiing in Lake Tyler with Tiger and Linda. My very first beer - Schlitz Malt Liquor - on a Sunday afternoon in fall 1975 behind the football stadium with Possum (too bad I liked it so much; went home and slept until church that night). You were always so sweet and funny. I think of you often.
