Mr. Richard L. Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. Richard L. Johnson, 57, Tyler, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church with Elder Noel Caldwell, eulogist. Burial will be in Mount Nevelton Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mr. Johnson died Sept. 7, 2014, at The Hospice of East Texas. 
Richard was born Dec. 12, 1956, in Cherokee County. He was a graduate of Whitehouse High School and attended both Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler. He was a lifelong resident of Smith County and was a member of Mount Nevelton CME Church where he sang in the Male Chorus, was an usher, steward and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Wildbunch Motorcycle Club and served in the U.S. Marines. 
Preceding him in death was his sister, Bobbie DeSha; and brother, Ronnie Johnson. 
Survivors include his wife, Wazlashil Johnson, of Tyler; parents, Rather Johnson Jr. and Alice Johnson, of Flint; two sons, Jamie Johnson (Shynonda), of Arlington, and Justin Johnson, of Tyler; two daughters, Veronica Williams (Quincy), of Whitehouse, and Savannah Johnson, of Tyler; one brother, Quincy McCleveland (Joyce), of Big Sandy; one sister, Mary Lions, of Flint; and seven grandchildren.
