I want to take a minute to remember Nancy Arrington. She was a sweet, sweet person. And SMART! I am sad that we lost her so long ago. She died in her mid-twneties. I understood at the time that something went wrong with the oxygen in the operating room where she was having jaw reconstructive surgery. So very tragic. I wish she could be at the reunion with us. RIP, Nancy.
I also remember what a sweet, sweet girl Nancy was. Unfortunately I never knew her very well. I did not know that is how she died. They know so much more now than they did then. She possibly could have survived with the technology they have now. I wish that we were taught to be more understanding about special needs people back when we were in grade school and beyond like they do now. We had a lot of special needs kids in our music and art classes in Alamo. I guess teachers at that time didn't have knowledge of it either. I am so glad that they teach kids more compassion now. Most people and children have been so kind to my daughter over the years. I agree that she would have loved this event.
I think that lil Nancy Arrington may have been one of the nicest, sweetest, & funny girls I've ever known. I remember that she had a great since of humor. I think of her often and always when I pass by her house on Taft. She was a jewel to anyone that ever came into her path. I feel lucky to have known her for the short time.

Nancy's health was always fragile, but she was very smart. I had no idea of the circumstances of her death.
Kathy Foley (Odom)
Don't think I ever had a class with her, but she was always very sweet
