In Memory

William Meckenstock

Bill passed away on January 11, 1978. Bill is buried at Resthaven Cemetery in the Faith Garden,   plot 65 B

Bill lost a very long and Courageous struggle with a cystic fibrosis type condition. I went to Elementary through High School with him.
Bill never complained. He was always upbeat even when you could tell he was struggling. He was a good example of how to live your life !
We miss you buddy, Chip Gramke     5/23/08

God Bless you Bill.

I also went to elementary school with Bill. His mother held Brownie Scout meetings in their basement that I attended.

I remember one time getting pulled in by Vanessa Hughes, Kim Roberts, and Kandy Waldie, while they picked on him in fifth grade in Ms. Stout's class. We all got pulled out into the hall, and was threatened to get spankings if we didn't tell what happened. I felt so bad about that!

Bill was a real fighter! I have never seen someone try so hard and always be so nice.

Bill tried to do everything any normal kid could do. Growing up with him down the block, we all were just used to him having to stop and cough and take treatments. He was also very funny and used to chase Penny and I with his eyelids flipped up.

I forgot about that Lori ! ! Bill taught every boy in 3rd grade how to flip their eyelids up. I was sitting next to him one day and he said "Hey Chip, look at me I'm Lizard Boy" .. I looked over and he had his eyelids flipped up. I was laughing hysterically ... and made him show me how to do it right away. Billy was a fun guy !
